Have you noticed that every year that passes, the quantity of items in the stores to be purchased for October 31 increases as does the wickedness portrayed? This is no day of innocent pumpkin carving or kids begging for chocolates. There are more demonic, gross things for sale than ever, proof that Satan is enjoying the deception he is causing.
Lots of people (yes, including American Christians) believe that its just a day for kids to have fun, dress up as their favorite character and its nothing more. If only that were true. Harmless? Harmless only if you believe that participating in a festival of Satan is harmless.
This is a day of sacrifice to Satan – his worshipers offer homage to him and all over the world, children are slain on his altars. Ironic then that it is children who are taught that there is nothing evil about the festival. Satan’s game is one of mockery and deception. Do not get caught up in it.
Hallowed be Your Name says the Lord’s Prayer. That means, HOLY BE YOUR NAME (GOD THE FATHER). So, by celebrating halloween, you’re hallowing the unholy, making that which we know is evil look to be good, which is completely contrary to God’s Word.
Let your children dress up, but on a totally different day, for entirely different reasons. Maybe let them dress up like a Bible character and they can win a prize (ie candy) for a different reason. But keep their attention off of this autumn death festival.
Now you’re going to argue. Oh, that’s so extreme, Pastors! Why can’t you lighten up? Why can’t you have a little fun?
Well, anyone who knows us knows we love to have fun. But, it is our responsibility as pastors (the very word pastor means “shepherd”) to warn you about dangers and to expose the Truth that the devil wants so desperately to hide.
Today should be a day of Christian prayer. Pray against the principalities and powers (Ephesians 6) and pray for victory over the spirit of death. We know that JESUS is LIGHT and LIFE and VICTORY, so put your faith in HIM and let Him reveal to you His abiding Truth. Pray that the Lord reveal to you what we know to be true regarding Satan’s high holy day and instead worship the God of Israel, giving Him all the honor and all of the praise, setting yourself apart as living, sanctified vessel that He can use for HIS Glory!
