Are you serving in the army of the Lord?

Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”  Mira que te mando que te esfuerces y seas valiente: no temas ni desmayes, porque Jehová tu Dios será contigo en donde quiera que fueres.”

Remember the military today. Pray for the soldiers who are still in Iraq and Afghanistan or wherever else they me stationed — but not just our own country. There are soldiers serving in their armies all around the world who deserve respect regardless of whether we all agree on politics. Pray for peace, so that soldiers in every nation can put down their weapons and go home to be with their loved ones. Pray for God’s will to be done. We know from the Bible that the nations will rage, so we must pray that in the midst of it that God’s people are protected and strong. Pray for soldiers’ endurance when they face battle. Pray that their sacrifice never goes unnoticed. Pray for the healing of the nations.

Have you accepted Christ? If so, you are enlisted, too. Happy Veteran’s Day, you who have encountered obstacles, have faced persecution, who have been ridiculed for your love of Jesus. Happy Veteran’s Day – you have made it this far, and God is faithful to see you through to the end. You are a soldier, a mighty warrior for the army of the Lord. Stand strong and be of good courage!
