Giving Thanks in All Circumstances

Thanksgiving Dia de Accion de Gracias

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Thanks-giving. If you are giving your thanks, you are doing it out of your own free will. Your gratitude is a gift that you give to the Almighty Father who is King of the Universe, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. We can give a lot of things; usually we give complaints, we give dissatisfaction, we give vengefulness, we give jealously. Are you feeling obligated to be grateful? That’s not much of a gift if you feel it is just an obligation or a mandate.

The name of the holiday is not Grumpsgiving or Pessimistgiving, as though your future was without promise. No, the name of the celebration is Thanksgiving, knowing that in Christ our future is secure and that in Christ Jesus our hope is built on nothing less than His love and righteousness! If you are going to give God something, may it be glory. Give Him glory, give Him honor, give Him thanks.

And if you learn to do this, you will have a true Thanks-giving.

  1. York woman killed, 4 injured

A York woman was killed Saturday after the car she was riding in drove into the path of another car.

  2. It is always a sad thing to hear of tragedies. And there is never an easy response.

There is sin in this world, and as a result, death still occurs. Accidents can happen – to this woman and the others injured, to anyone. God gives us liberty, and so even when we do desire to seek Him, bad things can still happen to the “good people.” He cannot stop every accident because right now the enemy, Satan, still works his evil in the world, causing us to become distracted which can cause accidents, causing us to make errors which can cause accidents, or causing us to be “in the wrong place at the wrong time” to no fault of our own.

We must seek God and ask His protection around us, that His angels would surround us in every moment and that the precious blood of Jesus cover us to protect us from all evil and wickedness that might threaten our lives.

There will be a day when there is no more death. 1 Corinthians 15:26, “The last enemy that will be abolished is death.”

There will be a day when there are no more tears.

“The Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces.” Isaiah 25:8

In the meantime, we must all live life to the fullest, worshipping the God of all, who will take care of us. Accept Jesus Christ if you haven’t yet, so that if an accident ever happens to you, you will live with Him for all eternity. Thank you for submitting this prayer request. We will be praying for the woman’s family and all those affected by this tragedy.
