If it were not for Mapquest, thousands of people would never have figured out where they were trying to go. Then along came Google Maps and thousands more people found, more accurately??
, where they were going, and could even change the route. Now virtually everybody has a navigator in their car, so there is just about no excuse for getting lost!
But, if you’re lost you’re lost. Excuses or not, if you don’t know where you’re going even a good map can’t help you. You need direction. You need to know the exact address and you need to know North from South, East from West.
It is Christmas time. Time to seek out the King who was born in Bethlehem to save us.
Are you lost, my friend?
Did you know that Bethlehem means “House of Bread?” Jesus is the Bread of Life, and man cannot live on bread alone but needs the Word of God which is our true sustenance, our true bread, Bethlehem is that place where you go to feel at home, where you feel the comfort you get when your home is filled with the smell of fresh baking bread. Bethlehem is the place where you can be fed with the Bread of Life who wants to make you healthy and whole, heal your infirmities and nourish you. Bethlehem is a special city, chosen to be the place where the Messiah, Y’shua, would be born.
If you’ve stepped out on the journey to know Christ, but you don’t know where to find Him, you need some directions. The Gospels are the best place to start. Read about the birth of Jesus. Pray. Be willing to give yourself to Jesus. The magi (wise men) brought gifts – gold, frankincense, and myrrh. What will you bring that is fitting for a King? Are you willing to give Him your heart? The most precious gift you can give to Jesus is yourself. Let Him reign over your life as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Chances are good that if you have been lost, seeking, confused, unsure of what direction to take that you need a pastor to guide you. This Christmas season, will you make a decision to be firm in your faith? Will you make a decision to not just ponder the miracle of Christmas, but to live it out? Come visit us on Sunday. We’re having a short worship service at 10 am followed by a Christmas fiesta. You’re invited. If nothing else, would you leave a comment below so we know to pray for you? Communicate with us. We want to help you. Are you feeling alone this Christmas? Are you feeling sad or grieving a loss? Let the Holy Spirit guide you to Bethlehem this year, so that you can live in peace and joy, so that you can know that Jesus loves you, He understands your hurts, your pain, your sadness, your depression, and He is the answer. He is the One who will heal you and set you free.
You don’t have to be lost anymore.
We at Raveh love you, too, and want to see you have hope, be prosperous, be in good health, and be at liberty to worship Jesus our King!
